Hoppin' John - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. black-eyed peas
    1 c. uncooked rice
    red and green pepper (for color)
    1 c. chopped onions
    1 lb. browned sausage
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Cook peas until 2/3 done.
    Add other ingredients.
    Stir often and add water as necessary, to make pot liquor.
