Snickerdoodles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. soft shortening
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 1/3 c. flour
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 to 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation
    Cream together shortening, sugar and egg.
    Sift flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt into creamed mixture.
    Roll into small balls.
    In a dish, mix 1 tablespoon sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Roll the balls around in sugar mixture.
    Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 7 minutes.
    Makes 2 1/2 dozen.
