Chinese Almond Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. margarine
    2 c. sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 tsp. almond extract
    1 tsp. baking powder
    3 1/2 c. flour
    chopped nuts
    maraschino cherries
Preparation
    Soften margarine and combine with remaining ingredients. Dough will be short.
    Make into small balls and flatten with chopped nuts and part of a maraschino cherry in center.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 12 minutes.
