Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    3/4 tsp. soda
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 c. yellow corn meal
    3 Tbsp. melted shortening
    1 1/4 c. sour milk or buttermilk
    2 eggs, well beaten
Preparation
    Sift flour once; measure. Add baking powder, salt, soda and sugar and sift again. Add corn meal. Combine milk and eggs. Add to dry ingredients, mixing well. Bake in greased shallow pan in hot oven (425\u00b0) 40 minutes or until done.
