Blackberry Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. lard
    2 eggs
    2 c. blackberries (as they come)
    2 tsp. soda
    3 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream sugar and lard.
    Beat in eggs; add blackberries.
    Sift flour, soda, spices and salt together.
    Then add to first mixture. Beat 3 minutes.
    Bake in 2 large or 3 small layer pans for 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Frost with Caramel Icing.
