Ingredients

1 loaf (26 to 28-inches, about 2-inches wide) French bread, ends removed and cut crosswise in 1-inch thick slices
1 1/2 c. milk
4 large eggs
1/4 c. orange juice
1/4 c. granulated sugar
2 Tbsp. orange liquor (optional)
1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
confectioners sugar (for garnish)
Preparation

Arrange bread slices in a single layer in a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
Beat remaining ingredients except garnish until well blended and sugar is dissolved.
Pour over bread.
Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour or up to 24 hours, allowing bread to soak up liquid.
Heat oven to 425\u00b0.
Lightly grease a jelly roll pan. Transfer bread to prepared pan, making sure slices don't touch. Bake 12 to 15 minutes until puffed and lightly browned.
Dust with confectioners sugar and serve immediately.
