Salt Water Taffy - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. confectioners sugar
1/4 c. water
1/4 lb. butter
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. corn syrup
1 Tbsp. glycerine
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Put sugar and water in saucepan; stir to moisten sugar.
Then add rest of ingredients; cook from 265\u00b0 to 270\u00b0 (soft crack stage).
Pour into shallow, buttered pan.
As soon as candy is cool enough to handle, pull until white and porous.
Then quickly draw out into
a rope about half an inch in diameter.
Quickly cut into half-inch lengths, using kitchen shears with blades rubbed with oil or softened butter.
Lay each piece on small squares of heavy waxed paper.
Roll up and twist ends lightly.
