Beata Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    cucumbers
    1 Tbsp. pickling spice
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 tsp. horseradish
    1/4 tsp. alum
    1 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Wash and cut cucumbers into chunks.
    Pack into quart jars and add to each jar the spices, etc.
    Fill up jars with water.
    Place lid on jars.
    Let them stand in cool place 3 months or longer. When ready to use, drain off liquid and rinse well.
    Add 1/2 cup sugar per jar.
    Mix well.
    Let set 3 days, then they are ready.
