Date Roll Candy - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 c. milk
1 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. chopped dates
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Combine sugar, salt and milk; add butter.
Boil until sugar is dissolved.
Add dates and cook, stirring constantly, for soft ball stage.
Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
Beat until creamy and thick.
Add nuts and mix thoroughly.
Knead until smooth.
Shape into a roll and chill until firm.
Cut into slices to serve.
