Valentine Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine, softened
    1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
    1 egg, lightly beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. almond extract
    2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    red decorator's sugar (optional)
Preparation
    In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
    Add egg and extracts.
    Stir in flour; mix well.
    Chill several hours.
    On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness.
    Cut with a 2 1/2 or 3-inch heart shaped cookie cutter.
    Place on an ungreased baking sheet; sprinkle with sugar, if desired.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly brown.
    Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
