Martha Pafford'S Crackling Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. cornmeal
    1 egg
    1 1/2 c. cracklings
    1/2 tsp. salt
    hot water
Preparation
    Chop cracklings.
    Barely cover the cracklings with hot water; let stand for 10 minutes.
    Add cornmeal and egg.
    Continue adding hot to warm water to mixture, enough to make dough into thick loaves.
    Add salt to mixture.
    Put in greased iron skillet.
    Bake in oven at 400\u00b0 to 450\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until brown.
