June'S Cucumber Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb cucumbers
    7 c sugar
    7 c vinegar
    2 Tbsp mixed pickling spice
    2 c lime
    1 tsp salt
    1 gal water
Preparation
    Soak cucumbers in water and lime mixture for 12 hours in the refrigerator.
    (Be sure water covers cucumbers.)
    Remove cucumbers from lime water and rinse well.
    Soak cucumbers in ice water for 12 hours in refrigerator.
    Combine vinegar, sugar, salt and spices in large boiler, bring to boil and add cucumbers.
    Boil 35 to 45 minutes.
    Put in hot jars and seal.
    Makes 5 quarts.
