Twisty Pretzels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 tsp. dry yeast
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. sugar
    6 tsp. warm water
    egg
    coarse salt
    shortening
    1 c. flour
Preparation
    Put yeast into a bowl.
    Add flour, sugar, warm water and salt. Mix the dough together until it makes a ball.
    Put some flour on your hands and sprinkle a little on a board or table.
    Knead the dough until it is smooth.
    Punch it and squeeze it until it feels like a rubber ball.
    Break off pieces of dough the size of a walnut.
    Roll each piece into a long string.
