Ingredients

4 Tbsp. butter
3 Tbsp. flour
2/3 c. brown sugar
2 eggs, separated
1 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 baked pie shell
2 Tbsp. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
Preparation

Melt butter; mix in flour and brown sugar.
Add beaten egg yolks; stir well.
Add water gradually.
Cook in double boiler until thick.
Add vanilla and cool slightly.
Pour into baked pie shell.
Beat egg whites, powdered sugar and baking powder until stiff peaks forms.
Cover pie with meringue.
Bake in 350\u00b0 oven until meringue is golden brown.
