Waldorf Astoria Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1 oz. red food coloring
    1 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 tsp. salt
    2 1/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vinegar
    1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs.
    Next, add paste made of food coloring and cocoa.
    Add 1 cup buttermilk with salt, alternately with flour.
    Add vanilla and lastly, fold in soda and vinegar.
    Beat 2 minutes at medium speed.
    Bake in oblong pan or 3 (8-inch) layer pans in moderate oven (350\u00b0) for 30 minutes.
