Congo Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 3/4 c. flour, sifted (a must)
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. Crisco shortening
    1 lb. light brown sugar
    3 eggs
    1 c. or fewer nuts
    1 pkg. chocolate bits
Preparation
    Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
    Melt shortening in pan.
    Add sugar.
    Stir only until well mixed.
    Cool.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Add dry ingredients, then nuts and chocolate bits.
    Pour in greased pan, 10 1/2 x 15 1/2-inch.
    Bake 25 or 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
