Holiday Nut Breads - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. Gold Medal self-rising flour
    1 1/4 c. milk
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/4 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1 c. nuts, chopped
    maraschino cherries
    1 1/2 c. mashed bananas
    candied pineapple
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease and flour loaf pan.
    Blend all ingredients
    in large mixer bowl on low speed for 15 seconds. Beat on medium speed for 30 seconds, scraping bowl constantly. Pour into pan.
    Bake until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 60 to 65 minutes.
    Immediately cool on wire rack. Garnish top of nut bread with maraschino cherries and green sliced candied pineapple, if desired.
    For better slicing, refrigerate overnight.
