Chili Con Carne - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, broken
    1 (16 oz.) can dark red kidney beans, drained
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 tsp. salt
    5 to 6 tsp. chili powder or to taste
    1 bay leaf
Preparation
    Brown meat and onion.
    Stir in remaining ingredients.
    Cover and simmer 1 hour.
    Remove bay leaf and serve.
