Ingredients

1 1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. peanut butter
2 c. packed brown sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. quick cooking oats
2 c. whole wheat flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
Preparation

In a mixing bowl, cream shortening and peanut butter.
Add brown sugar, eggs and vanilla; mix well.
Combine oats, flour, baking soda and salt.
Add to creamed mixture and mix well.
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls on ungreased baking sheet.
Flatten with fork.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 minutes or until done.
Makes 6 dozen.
