Baked Lima Beans - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 (1 lb.) pkg. large dried limas
salt
1/2 lb. sliced bacon
1 c. chopped onion
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
2 tsp. dry mustard
1/4 c. light brown sugar
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. oregano
Preparation

Day before, cover beans with water; refrigerate overnight. Next day, drain beans; put in large saucepan.
Cover with hot water.
Add 1 teaspoon salt.
Boil; reduce heat and simmer, covered, about 40 minutes or until beans are tender.
Drain. Reserve 6 slices of bacon for later.
Cut remaining bacon in 1/2-inch pieces; saute lightly.
Add onion.
Saute until onion is tender and bacon is browned.
In large bowl, combine beans, onion, bacon, tomato sauce, brown sugar, dry mustard, Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 teaspoon salt, oregano and 1/2 cup water.
Blend well. Turn into a 2 1/2 quart shallow baking dish.
Bake covered 30 minutes at 375\u00b0.
Remove cover and bake 15 minutes longer. Meanwhile, saute reserved bacon until crisp.
Drain.
Arrange over beans.
