South Carolina Chow Chow - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. green tomatoes
    6 firm, ripe Granny Smith apples
    3 medium onions
    2 sweet red peppers
    3 sweet green peppers
    3 c. white vinegar
    2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. mixed pickling spice
    1 Tbsp. dry mustard
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Chop first 5 ingredients fine or force through food chopper using medium blade.
    Put in kettle.
    Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
    Bring to boil and simmer, stirring occasionally, 15 minutes, or until apples are tender.
    Pour into 4 hot, sterilized pint jars and seal.
    Process in water bath 5 minutes.
