Seven Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 head lettuce
    1/2 c. green peppers, sliced
    1/2 c. celery, diced
    1/2 c. onion, diced
    1 can English peas, drained
    1 pt. mayonnaise
    6 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese
    bacon bits
Preparation
    Layer the first 5 ingredients in the order given.
    Spread mayonnaise over the top, sealing sides.
    Layer with bacon bits and cheese.
    May be prepared and refrigerated a day before serving. Cover with foil and chill.
    Don't toss.
    Serve as is.
