Sparkies Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 pkg. Quaker puffed wheat or rice (5 1/2 c.)
    1 c. corn syrup
    3/4 Tbsp. salt
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    2 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Crisp puffed wheat in oven at 350\u00b0 for 3 to 5 minutes.
    Cook corn syrup, sugar and water until it reaches soft ball stage.
    Add butter and cook to hard brittle stage.
    Add salt and puffed wheat. Stir until all are well coated.
    Turn out into shallow greased pan or form into balls.
