Deviled Swiss Steak - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sliced onions
1 clove garlic
3 Tbsp. shortening
1 1/2 lb. steak
1 can pureed tomatoes
1/2 c. water
1 Tbsp. dry mustard
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. pepper
1 Tbsp. brown sugar
flour
Preparation

In a large skillet, saute onion and garlic in shortening until lightly brown.
Cut steak into strips and dredge in flour.
Brown well in pan with onions and garlic.
Mix in remaining ingredients. Simmer on low heat until meat is tender (covered), approximately 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
