Cherry Bonbons - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. margarine
    1/4 c. evaporated milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    pinch of salt
    3 1/2 c. powdered sugar
    1/3 c. nuts
    1/3 c. candied cherries
Preparation
    Melt margarine in a two-quart saucepan.
    Remove from heat and stir in milk, vanilla and salt.
    Gradually add sugar.
    Turn onto a board sprinkled with additional powdered sugar.
    Knead until smooth.
    Add nuts and cherries.
    Shape into a roll; wrap in waxed paper and chill until firm.
    Slice 1/2-inch thick.
