Spicy Peach Shortcake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 c. shortening
    melted butter
Preparation
    Sift together all dry ingredients.
    Cut in shortening.
    With a fork, stir in buttermilk just until blended.
    Turn onto a lightly floured board.
    Knead 3 to 5 times.
    Divide dough in half.
    Roll each half into an 8-inch round.
    Put one round on a cookie sheet. Brush with melted butter.
    Top with remaining round.
    Bake at 450\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes.
    Cool and put together with whipped cream and peaches.
    Serves 8.
