Gingersnaps - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening or margarine
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1/4 c. molasses
    2 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. ground ginger
    2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream the shortening or margarine and sugar. Add the egg and molasses and mix well. Combine the flour, ground ginger, soda, cinnamon and salt.
    Mix well.
    Add about 1/4 dry mixture to the creamed mixture at a time and mix well after each addition.
    Roll into 1-inch balls and roll in sugar.
    Place well apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 minutes. Tops will crack.
    Makes 4 or 5 dozen cookies.
