Mama'S Butter Roll - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cup flour
    1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    2 tablespoons shortening
    6 tablespoons milk
    1 1/2 sticks margarine
    3/4 cup sugar
    2 tablespoons vanilla
Preparation
    Mix ingredients together.
    Combine first four ingredients. Roll dough, with rolling pin, between 2 sheets of waxed paper until thick like pie crust (about 10 X 12 inches).
    Cover with 1/4 inch pats of margarine.
    Sprinkle with 3/4 cup sugar.
    Sprinkle vanilla over sugar.
    Roll and seal dough together.
    Cut 1 inch slices of roll.
    Place in a 9 X 9 baking dish that has been sprayed with PAM. Pour 1 1/2 cups milk or cream (for richer flavor) over top of rolls.
    Bake at 350 until lightly brown.
