Cough Mixture - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 Tbsp. sugar
4 Tbsp. water
1 egg white
5 drops turpentine
Preparation

Boil sugar and water until syrup spins a thread.
Beat white of egg until dry.
Put into a bottle and drop in turpentine. Shake bottle until egg and turpentine have mixed well, then pour in the syrup and shake mixture again thoroughly. Bottle should always be shaken just before the mixture is used. This is a fine remedy for colds, hoarseness and pneumonia coughs.
