Luscious Coconut Cream Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 c. milk
    3 eggs, separated
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. cornstarch
    1 c. flaked coconut
    1 (9-inch) pastry shell, baked and cooled
Preparation
    Combine sugar, cornstarch and salt in large microwave mixing bowl.
    Gradually add the milk, mixing well.
    Microwave 8 minutes, stirring twice.
    Remove from oven and stir small amount of hot mixture into 3 slightly beaten egg yolks; then blend egg yolk mixture into hot milk mixture.
    Microwave 2 more minutes, stirring once.
    Remove from oven.
    Add butter and vanilla.
    Mix well. Stir in coconut. Pour into pastry shell.
    Spread meringue on top of pie and bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
    Serve warm or chilled. (This is a family favorite.)
