Butterscotch Fingers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. margarine
    1 c. dark brown sugar
    1 egg
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped nuts (if you like them)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
    Lightly grease a 9-inch square pan on the bottom and sides.
    In a bowl, sift flour.
    Add baking powder. Melt margarine over low heat; stir in brown sugar until well blended.
    Add egg and vanilla; stir well.
    Add dry ingredients; mix well.
    Add nuts if used.
    Spread in a greased pan.
    Bake in center of oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
    While still warm, cut into strips.
