Aunt Callie'S Cherry Pudding Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. butter, melted
    1 egg, beaten
    1 3/4 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    1 can sour cherries with juice
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Combine 1 cup sugar, 3 tablespoons butter and egg.
    Add milk and vanilla.
    Mix baking powder with flour, then add to mixture. Mix just until blended.
    Pour into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
    In a saucepan, combine water, cherries (with juice), 1 1/2 cups sugar and 2 tablespoons butter.
    Bring to a boil and pour over batter immediately.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 to 375\u00b0 for about 40 to 45 minutes or until cake and pudding reverse positions and the cake springs back to a light touch.
