Homemade Pretzels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. active dry yeast
    1 1/2 c. warm water
    1 Tbsp. plain malted milk powder
    1 Tbsp. molasses
    1 tsp. salt
    4 to 4 1/2 c. rye flour or whole wheat flour
    1 Tbsp. caraway seed (use with rye flour)
    coarse salt
Preparation
    In large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.
    Add malted powder, molasses and salt.
    Stir in flour and caraway seed. Knead about 5 minutes.
    Cut into 12 pieces.
    Shape into a long rope and then a pretzel.
    Place on greased cookie sheet.
    Moisten lightly with water.
    Sprinkle with coarse salt.
    Bake in a 425\u00b0 oven for 20 minutes or until browned.
    Serve warm.
    Makes 12 pretzels.
