Ingredients

4 c. water
2 c. onions
1/2 stick butter
4 bouillon cubes
1 bay leaf
Italian bread
Swiss cheese
Preparation

Fry onions in butter until golden.
Combine water, onions, bouillon cubes and bay leaf.
Simmer 1 hour.
Pour into bowl with slice of Italian bread.
Top with Swiss cheese.
Broil 2 to 3 minutes.
