Fresh Peach Delight - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    juice of 1/2 lemon
    3 c. peeled, sliced peaches
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. milk
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 c. hot water
Preparation
    Sprinkle lemon juice over peaches. Cream 3/4 cup sugar with butter.
    Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Add to butter-sugar mixture with milk to make stiff batter.
    Spread peaches in buttered 8 x 10 x 2-inch pan. Spread batter evenly over peaches. Combine cornstarch and 1 cup sugar. Sprinkle over batter. Pour hot water over batter.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
    Serves 8 to 10.
