Jewel Candies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/3 c. water
    3 to 4 drops food coloring
    1/2 c. light corn syrup
    1/4 tsp. flavored oil
Preparation
    Line an 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan with foil, extending foil up sides; butter foil.
    Butter sides of heavy 1-quart saucepan; add sugar, corn syrup and water, mixing well.
    Bring to boiling, stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved.
    Cook over medium heat to 300\u00b0 (hard crack stage).
    Remove from heat; add flavored oil and food coloring.
    Pour into prepared pan at once.
