Caramel Nut Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine, softened
    2/3 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. flour
    3 c. apple cinnamon toasted oat cereal, finely crushed
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
    16 caramels
    1/4 c. milk
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    In a large mixing bowl combine butter, sugar, flour, cereal, baking soda and salt.
    Beat at low speed until mixture is blended.
    Press into a greased 13 x 9-inch pan. Sprinkle with nuts.
    Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until lightly browned.
    Meanwhile, in saucepan combine caramels and milk.
    Heat over low heat, stirring constantly until melted.
    When bars are removed from oven, drizzle caramel mixture over top.
    Yield:
    36 bars.
