Vegetable Barley Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. chuck meat, cut in squares
    1 (22 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 tsp. salt
    1 bay leaf
    3 c. water
    1 can green beans
    1 can whole kernel corn
    1/2 c. barley
    1/4 tsp. minced garlic
    1/4 tsp. oregano
Preparation
    Place meat, tomatoes, salt and bay leaf in large pan.
    Add water, cover and bring to boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 1/2 hour.
    Add barley, cook 1 1/2 hours.
    Add beans, corn, oregano and garlic.
    Simmer 1/2 hour or until tender.
    Serves 4 to 6.
