Brown Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. stew meat
    Pam for bottom of pan
    4 c. boiling water
    1 tsp. lemon juice
    1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1 clove garlic (optional)
    1 medium onion
    2 bay leaves
    1 Tbsp. salt or less
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    1/2 tsp. paprika
    dash of allspice
    1 tsp. sugar
    carrots, sliced
    potatoes, cubed
Preparation
    Thoroughly brown meat on all sides; add water, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, onion, bay leaves and seasonings.
    Simmer 2 hours; stir occasionally to keep from sticking.
    Add carrots and potatoes.
    Continue cooking 30 minutes or until vegetables are done.
    Thicken liquid for gravy.
    Serves 6 to 8.
    Serve in bowls with garlic spread French bread and a tossed salad and maybe fruit for dessert.
