Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    lettuce
    1/2 c. celery
    10 oz. pkg. frozen peas
    4 to 6 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese
    8 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
    1/2 c. green pepper
    1/2 c. Spanish onion
    1 pt. mayonnaise
Preparation
    Make and serve in a deep straight sided glass bowl.
    Slice lettuce like cabbage and put in bowl until it is one-half full. Layer each item in order given.
    Cover tightly.
    Refrigerate at least 8 hours.
    Do not mix at any time.
    Cut down through layers to serve.
