Cherry Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. butter
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 eggs
    2 c. flour
    1/2 to 3/4 c. chopped nuts
    1 can Comstock cherry pie filling
Preparation
    Cream the butter and the sugar.
    Add vanilla, eggs, flour and chopped nuts and mix.
    Grease and flour a 9 x 12-inch pan.
    Put 3/4 cup of the mixture in the pan and spread evenly.
    Put cherry pie filling over the dough in pan.
    Drop remaining dough over the top of pie filling.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes.
