Deeanna'S Sausage Upside-Down Cornbread - cooking recipe

1 lb. bulk pork sausage
1 c. chopped onion
1/3 c. chopped green pepper
2 Tbsp. flour
6 oz. can tomato paste
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. chili powder
1/8 tsp. pepper
8 oz. Cheddar cheese
2 Jiffy corn muffin mixes
Preparation

Cook sausage, onion and green pepper in skillet until sausage is brown and crumbly.
Stir in flour.
Add tomato paste, salt, chili powder and pepper.
Remove from heat.
Cut Cheddar into 1/2-inch cubes and add to skillet.
Spread evenly into 9-inch square pan.
Prepare muffin mix according to package directions; spread over sausage.
Bake at 400 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
Let stand approximately 5 minutes; loosen edges with knife; invert onto serving dish and serve immediately.
