Hot Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cakes or pkg. yeast
    1/2 c. water
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    4 c. milk, scalded
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    2 tsp. salt
    flour to handle
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water with 1 tablespoon sugar. Scald milk and let cool.
    Add sugar, shortening, salt and flour to handle.
    Knead until not sticky.
    Let rise until light.
    Knead down; let rise again.
    Make into buns and let rise.
    Bake plain rolls at 400\u00b0 for 10 to 15 minutes.
    This is a good basic dough even for sweet rolls.
    If used for sweet rolls, follow the recipe except when used with a sugar-butter coating try a 350\u00b0 to 375\u00b0 oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until bottoms are lightly browned in glass pan.
    (This can be used very well with Rapidmix method of Fleischmann's.)
