Hot Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients
-
1 1/2 qt. canned or 3 lb. ripe tomatoes
1 1/2 c. chopped onions
1 1/4 c. chopped celery
1 1/4 c. chopped jalapeno peppers
4 1/2 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 c. vinegar
Preparation
-
If ripe tomatoes are used, peel and then chop.
Combine with remaining ingredients, except peppers, in order named in a large kettle.
Simmer uncovered until thick.
Add jalapeno peppers the last 15 minutes so they will stay hot.
Pour at once into clean hot jars and adjust covers as jar manufacturer directs.
If they don't seal, turn them upside down in the saucepan with a little water and boil about 6 or 7 minutes.
Enjoy this sauce with chips, tacos or any other food you want to spice up.
