Banana Split Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 to 5 bananas (not too ripe)
    2 c. graham cracker crumbs or vanilla wafers, crushed
    1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple, drained
    1 small bottle maraschino cherries, chopped
    3 sticks margarine (soft), divided
    2 eggs
    2 c. confectioners sugar
    1 (9 oz.) Cool Whip
    1 c. nuts, chopped
    1 1/2 c. vanilla, divided
Preparation
    Mix 1 stick margarine with crumbs.
    Pat lightly in 13 x 9 x 2-inch buttered pan.
    Mix eggs, rest of margarine, confectioners sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla in mixer for 10 to 15 minutes. Spread mixture over crumb crust.
    Cover with sliced bananas. Spoon pineapple over bananas.
    Mix 1 teaspoon vanilla with Cool Whip and spread over pineapple.
    Top with chopped nuts and cherries.
    Refrigerate.
