Ingredients

1 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 2/3 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. baking soda
2 c. sugar
Preparation

In bowl, cream sugar with butter, vanilla and salt.
Add eggs; mix well.
Combine flour, baking soda and baking powder.
Add to creamy mixture.
Chill 1 hour until firm.
On floured surface, roll dough 1/4-inch thick.
Cut and place on cookie sheet (greased).
Bake at 370\u00b0 for 7 to 8 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 6 dozen cookies.
Ice or decorate if desired.
