Scallops A La King - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 small green pepper
    1 c. fresh mushrooms
    1 pt. milk
    1 pt. scallops
Preparation
    Melt butter in frying pan; add the green pepper, chopped fine and the mushrooms, chopped.
    Stir and cook 3 to 4 minutes.
    Add the flour and salt and cook until frothy.
    Add the milk and stir until thickened.
    In separate bowl, pour boiling water over scallops and let stand for 5 minutes.
    Put sauce in double boiler over hot (but not boiling) water.
    Add drained scallops.
    Let stand for 20 minutes.
    Serve on toast or between split biscuits.
