Strawberry Cream Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large baked pie shell
    2 c. milk or pudding mix
    1/2 c. sugar
    pinch of salt
    3 egg yolks
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Preparation
    Wash and drain 1 1/2 or 2 cups fresh strawberries. Sweeten to taste. Pour on bottom of baked pie shell. Cook cream mixture or pudding mix in double boiler until thickened. Cool. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Pour over berries. Beat egg whites until they stand in peaks. Add sugar to taste. Put meringue on top and brown lightly.
