Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. chunk beef
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    1 medium onion
    1 tsp. garlic salt
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1/4 tsp. powdered basil
    1/4 tsp. powdered thyme
    1 can tomato soup
    1 c. water
    1/2 c. catsup
    3 medium carrots
    1 1/2 c. celery
    4 medium potatoes
Preparation
    Brown beef in shortening.
    Mix all liquids and spices.
    Mix beef and liquids.
    Cook until almost done.
    Add vegetables and finish cooking.
