Currant Scones - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. cold butter or margarine, cubed
1/2 c. currants
1 c. buttermilk
1 egg, lightly beaten
Preparation

In large bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt.
Using pastry blender or two knives, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Stir in currants.
Add buttermilk to mixture all at once, stirring with a fork to make soft, slightly sticky dough.
